100 Things

1. I am more girly girl than I’m willing to admit.

2. Despite the fact that pink is my favorite color, the prevalent colors of my wardrobe are black, grey, & blue.

3. I used to write (short stories, novellas, poetry) all the time… now I can’t find the drive or the inspiration to write even a single sentence.

4. Clowns terrify me.

5. So do tidal waves.

6. Even though I live in Texas (where tidal waves are pretty much non-existent).

7. I think feet are one of the most disgusting parts on the human body.

8. I dream of having another breast reduction.

9. I feel guilty when I don’t feel like listening to a Christian song… almost like I’m committing a sin against God by disliking a song about Him.

10. I dislike answering my phone.

11. But get a secret thrill when it rings.

12. I also dislike returning calls.

13. I’m horrible at small talk.

14. Because of this, people tend to think I’m a snob upon first meeting me.

15. If I could eat one thing for the rest of my life? Broccoli. Steamed until it’s mush, buttered, & salted. No nutritional value anymore, but seriously my favorite food EVER.

16. I’ve been thinking of getting a dog for my daughter.

17. But really it’s for me.

18. I know all the words to the movie “The Crow”.

19. And “The Wedding Date”.

20. And “Ever After”.

21. Plus, I’m one of those people who quote the movie as I watch.

22. Even though I hate it when other people do it.

23. Things I will drink at a bar: Bud Light, Amaretto, Vodka & cranberry, or filthy dirty vodka martinis.

24. I say rude things to strangers in my head (but never out loud).

25. I read everything very quickly.

26. I’m a Taurus down to my very core.

27. But I don’t believe in astrology.

28. The best smell in the world: my daughter after a bath.

29. I am best suited for work that involves organization & being someone’s “right hand (wo)man”.

30. I am a fair-weather camper.

31. I have four brothers and one sister, all (technically) younger (my twin was born 5 minutes after me).

32. I am turned on by a man playing the piano.

33. Or the guitar/bass.

34. Diabetes runs in my family and that scares me.

35. So does cancer (and that terrifies me).

36. I loathe doing the laundry and the dishes, but love the way it feels after it’s all done.

37. I cry when I am really angry.

38. And when I’m frustrated.

39. And when I’m over-tired.

40. I will not consume anything that is artificially flavored like grape or raspberry.

41. I would love to be a dancer (but don’t have the rhythm or grace for it).

42. My middle name is Brooke.

43. I loathe grocery shopping.

44. And clothes shopping.

45. The last movie I saw was Twilight.

46. I don’t know if I truly, honestly want more children.

47. But I don’t know if I’d be able to handle it.

48. I can never shake the feeling that I’m responsible (i.e. I feel guilty over EVERYTHING).

49. I love staying in hotels.

50. I have been in love three times.

51. None of which were my ex-husband.

52. I loathe bleu cheese.

53. I was raised Southern Baptist.

54. I am currently attending 2 non-denominational churches, hoping to find one that’s closer to home.

55. I wish I could play the guitar.

56. I do best in a “supporting” role.

57. Despite the fact that I hate what I see, I can’t walk by a mirror without staring at myself.

58. I love almost all types of cheese (especially Monterey Jack and Colby).

59. I am a very nosy person.

60. I take personal offense at bad grammar, spelling, and speech.

61. I will eat chicken fried steak anywhere and at any time (but my mama makes the best).

62. I can NOT eat a steak any LESS than medium (and even that’s pushing it).

63. I will probably never own a house again.

64. I can tie a cherry stem in a knot with my tongue (sometimes two or three knots).

65. If I knowingly break a rule, I will always get caught.

66. I look like my Aunt, but act like my mother.

67. The only thing I got from my father was my singing ability.

68. I typically walk fast but physically can’t run.

69. My iPod has a little over 5000 songs on it.

70. This is nowhere near enough.

71. I am entirely too easily irritated.

72. I don’t know how to hold a grudge (even when I should).

73. I’m a paranoid, neurotic mess.

74. I love wrestling. As in: WWE.

75. I am an obsessive list maker.

76. I am one of those Obnoxiously Proud Texans.

77. I cheated on my ex-husband multiple times.

78. I don’t feel guilty about it.

79. I do, however, feel guilty for not feeling guilty.

80. I constantly stop on the way home for a “snack”, then go home & eat an entire meal.

81. I harbor a lot of envy… for my brothers, my cousins, my friends… I want what they all have. Or what they seem to have.

82. I have very distinct memories of being molested, but will never tell who it was because of the pain it would cause my family.

83. I tend to stay in unhealthy relationships because I want to be liked & accepted so badly.

84. I’m addicted to audiobooks & eBooks - so much so that I consistently ignore work and chores to listen/read.

85. I was once in a “serious” relationship that I never wanted to be in because I felt pressured to say yes (see #83).

86. I wish I could write as beautifully or as eloquently as some of the blogs I lurk at.

87. I write in my planner with every intention of posting it to the LJ Organizers community, but am too shy/lazy to do it.

88. I’ve never been on a diet I haven’t cheated on.

89. I’ve told two people I was in love with them knowing that it was a bold-faced lie.

90. I’m terrified I’ll end up with dentures at 46 like my mother.

91. My new bangs were an accident, but I liked them so much, I kept them.

92. My OCD and laziness are constantly at war with each other.

93. I constantly wonder why some of the blogs I lurk are left hundreds of comments, and I’m left barely any.

94. But I don’t say anything to anyone about it because I don’t want to be seen as “manipulative” or “whiny”.

95. I can out drink most men I know.

96. I live in fear of doing or saying the wrong thing and being left by everyone (family, friends, boyfriends, etc).

97. It’s because of this that people are easily able to walk all over me.

98. I can’t live without music.

99. Or books.

100. I have a very dry sense of humor.
